I just wanted to update everyone on what exactly the US girls have been up to in Penang, Malaysia.

Well, it has been a pretty exciting and relaxing couple of days. We went to a resort beach in Penang on Tuesday after training and went jet skiing and had some fun in the sun!! The beach was absolutely beautiful, and we all had a great time! Penang is such an interesting place with so much character!!

Two days later, we took a break from training to spend a day in Langkawi (an island near Taiwain). It was absolutely breathtaking!! The water was so clear, and the reef and sea life were incredible. All in all it was a great day of relaxation and tourism!

In regards to squash, we have adapted to Malaysian time and Malaysian food and customs and are ready to begin the tournament.

The opening ceremonies were last night, and they were pretty interesting! Bike riders with chairs on their bikes took all the players and coaches through the streets of Penang, while the police officers stopped traffic for us. We ended up at an unbelievable mansion that had just been restored where we had dinner and listened to speeches. It was a great evening, and they did a great job of making us feel welcome!

The tournament begins today, but none of the US girls play today because we all have byes, but we are extremely pumped for our matches tomorrow!

Ok, that is all for now!! Best wishes from Malaysia!!
