Power Vaults Price Hurdle DOHA, Qatar- Defending champion Jonathon Power of Montreal advanced to the quarter finals at the $100,000 Professional Squash Association’s Masters Tournament on Thursday. Power, seeded fourth but ranked third in the world, defeated pesky Paul Price of Australia 15-12, 15-13, 15-2. "I was nervous about the match against Paul so I was happy to win that one," said Power. "We’ve had some close battles over the past six months. I beat him in our last two meetings but they were really close. I’m hoping now things will start to open for me and I’ll get my confidence going. Early rounds are always tough." So far this season, Power has enjoyed plenty of success with victories at the Tournament of Champions in February and the Pakistan Open in March. He also reached the semifinals at the British Open earlier this month. "The big difference this year is I’m injury free," Power said. "I’m feeling good about my squash these days and enjoying it more. I never saw the loss coming at the British Open. It sort of knocked my confidence because I had a great winning streak going." Power meets unseeded Amr Shabana of Egypt on Friday. There was one major upset as Lee Beachill of England defeated third-seed John White of Scotland 13-15, 15-10, 15-13, 15-5. White is the player that eliminated Power at the British Open. Top-seed Peter Nicol of England also advanced. Graham Ryding of Toronto was eliminated in the first round Tuesday. Thursday’s round of
