Odeh, Lewis charge into final

Sept 4 2003, Boston MA

T&R resident pro Lucky Odeh rode the home court advantage to a strong straight game win over the city's top rated amateur, Briggs Johnson. Meanwhile, veteran pro Mark Lewis continued his bid to reach yet another US Open qualifier as he was able pull out an exciting match against the University Club's Jason Hicks. Hicks won the first game 15-12. At 13-13 in the second game Hicks hit an apparent winner, but his safety glasses fell off concurrently. Hicks forfeited the point and then lost the game 15-13. Lewis went on to hit some fine and accurate shots in taking the final two games 11 and 10, after a total of 65 minutes.
