CAROL
OWENS WINS SENSATION FINAL TO BECOME NEW WORLD CHAMPION She dominated the 14 minute long fourth game using high wall shots mixed with careful volley drops and was absolutely cool, as though she knew what Joyce would do. She won the game 9-6 and then ran away with the final game as Joyce, clearly rattled made early errors on snatched volleys and could not regain her composure. Joyce needed only one match ball to win and hit a backhand that died in the back corner. She let out a shriek of joy and she was the world champion. She had said earilier in the week that she wanted to win because she was getting old. She showed poise and confidence in taking Joyce apart after being so far in the hole. RESULT OF FINAL
